Red Wine with Resveratrol

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Resveratrol is a polyphenolic phytoalexin that was originally found in the year 1940 from the roots of White Hellebore. This constituent got its maximum exposure due to the anti aging, anti inflammatory and fat burning properties present in it. These properties were found with the help of rat experiments that were carried out to stumble on its effectiveness.

Resveratrol is found maximum in the red grapes and blue berries. Usually people can intake Resveratrol through red wine, as it contains a proportion of 1.5 to 3 milligrams of Resveratrol. Moreover, Resveratrol is susceptible to oxygen and light and this is the reason that it is advised to keep the red wine away from direct light. Due to the content of Resveratrol in red wine, it is advisable to consume red wine rather than of the white wine. Mostly, the Resveratrol supplements are taken in order to loose weight and treat the aging problems. Majority of the Resveratrol content is taken from the herb called Polygonum Cuspidatum to make the supplements.

Resveratrol

The supplements of Resveratrol are made from the dried grape seeds and skin, which is also extracted from the Japanese Knotweed these days. All these properties have been tried and tested on the animal bodies, but not on the human beings.
